How to integrate QR TIGER with GA4
Follow these steps to integrate your MEASUREMENT ID and track QR code views:
- Visit the Google Analytics dashboard to retrieve your MEASUREMENT ID.
- Navigate to 'Admin' and select 'Data Streams.' Identify the Web Stream you wish to track QR code views for.
- Access your QR TIGER dashboard, go to 'Settings,' and select the 'Plan' tab. Input your MEASUREMENT ID into the 'Google Analytics' field and click 'Save.'
To review your data:
- Return to the Google Analytics dashboard.
- Proceed to the 'Reports' section.
- Under the 'Life Cycle' category, choose 'Engagement,' then explore 'Pages and screens' to see your data.
After your QR codes begin accumulating scans, you'll notice identifiable page paths, such as '9QF7,' appearing in your dashboard, representing individual QR codes. It's important to note that not every scan of a URL QR code necessarily registers as a page view. However, QR codes linked to assets with higher user engagement - such as vCards, landing pages, 'Link in Bio' references, or files - tend to yield more substantial data.
With Google Analytics 4 (GA4), these interactions, once they start reflecting as page paths in your dashboard, allow for a deeper dive into user behavior and engagement statistics. Specifically, GA4 can offer the following insights:
- User Engagement: Understand the depth of interaction by observing metrics like 'Engagement Time' and 'Engagement Rate' on your specified QR destinations, indicating how users interact with the content linked to your QR codes.
- Event Tracking: Monitor specific user actions, such as file downloads, link clicks, or social sharing from your QR-enabled pages. GA4 allows for a more detailed view of these events without complex setup.
- User Demographics and Interests: When compliance with data privacy regulations is ensured, GA4 can provide information about the demographics and interests of users interacting with your QR codes, helping tailor future content and marketing strategies.
- Conversion Tracking: Identify how well your QR codes contribute to your business goals by tracking conversions. This feature is particularly useful for QR codes linked to transactional pages or user sign-up forms.
- Retention Analysis: Assess how effective QR codes are in retaining interest over time, identifying whether users return and how often, which is pivotal for understanding the long-term value of your QR campaigns.
By harnessing these advanced GA4 features, you can refine your QR code strategies, creating more engaging and targeted content based on real user data and behavior patterns.
