What is the best way to print my QR code?

Printing your QR code is a simple two-step process: first, you download the QR code image from our platform, and then you print that file from your computer.

Following a few best practices during this process is crucial to ensure your QR code is high-quality and scans easily for your users.

Step 1: Download Your QR Code in the Right Format

Before you print, you must download your QR code from the QRTIGER generator. Choosing the right format is the most important step for ensuring high print quality.

  1. From the QR Tiger homepage, create your QR code.
  2. After creating and customizing your QR code, go to the next step to customize the design of your QR code, and see the download options.
  3. Select your desired File Format.
    • Use PNG for Small Prints: A PNG file is great for general use and small print jobs, like on a business card or a small flyer. It is a standard image file.
    • Use SVG or EPS for Large Prints: For the best possible quality, especially if you plan to print the QR code at a large size (like on a banner or poster), we strongly recommend using the SVG or EPS format. These are vector files, which means they can be resized to any dimension without losing clarity or becoming blurry.
  4. Click the "Download" button to save the QR code file to your device.

Step 2: Printing Best Practices

Once the file is on your computer, you can print it just like any other image. Here are some tips to ensure your printed QR code works perfectly:

  • Size Matters: Do not print the QR code too small. A general rule is to make it at least 2 x 2 cm (about 1 x 1 inch) to ensure it's easily scannable by all phones.
  • Maintain High Contrast: Always print a dark QR code on a light background. A classic black-on-white design is the most reliable. Avoid inverted colors (a light code on a dark background), as many scanning apps cannot read them.
  • Use High-Quality Materials: Print on a flat, non-glossy surface to avoid reflections that can interfere with scanning. Make sure the code is not distorted or stretched.
  • Always Test Before a Large Print Run: Before printing thousands of copies, print a single test QR code. Scan it with multiple devices (both iPhone and Android) and from different angles to confirm it works flawlessly.

By downloading the correct file format and following these simple printing tips, you can ensure your QR code campaign is successful.
