How do I make a QR code stop working after a certain time or number of scans?
This feature is useful for limited-time offers or event-specific information.
- Log in to your QR Tiger account.
- Click on the "My Account" dropdown on the top-right of the homepage.
- Click on the type of your QR code (e.g. URL, vCard, Landing Page, etc.)
- Find the relevant QR code.
- Click the "Expiry" icon.
- In the pop-up, choose how the code should expire:
- By Date: Select "Date" and enter the exact date when the QR code should stop working.
- By Number of Scans: Select "Scans" and enter the maximum number of scans allowed before it expires.
- By IP Address: Select "IP" to limit scans from a single user. You can allow an IP address to scan only once or multiple times.
- Click "Save".
How to Extend the Scan Limit
If a QR code expires because it has reached its scan limit, you can reactivate it by increasing the total number of allowed scans.
The scan limit is cumulative.
- Example: You set a QR code to expire after 1,000 scans. Once it reaches this limit, it becomes inactive.
- To reactivate it for another 1,000 scans: You must edit the expiration and set the new total scan limit to 2,000.
- To add another 1,000 scans after that: You would update the total limit to 3,000.
This feature is available to Advanced plans and up.
Who can do this?
This action is available for Editor (on their own QR codes) and Admin/Owner roles on plans that support multiple users.
