How do I clone a QR code?
If you want to make a duplicate copy of your QR code, follow these steps:
- Login to your QR Tiger account.
- Click on "My Account" dropdown on the upper right of the homepage.
- Click on the type of QR Code (e.g. URL, vCard, Bulk, Landing Page, etc.).
- Find the QR code you want to duplicate.
- Click the "Settings" button next to it.
- Select "Clone QR code" from the dropdown menu.
- In the pop-up, specify the number of copies you want (up to 50) and click "Clone".
When you clone a QR code, the following occurs:
- A new, unique QR code is generated. This new QR code will have a different visual pattern and a different short URL than the original.
- The final destination remains the same. Anyone who scans the new, cloned QR code will be taken to the exact same destination URL as the original.
The main purpose of this function is for tracking. Because the original and the cloned QR codes have different short URLs, their scan analytics can be measured independently. This allows you to see how many scans each specific QR code gets, even though they both lead to the same place.
Only available for paid plans.
Who can do this?
This action is available for Editor (on their own QR codes) and Admin/Owner roles on plans that support multiple users.
